Éist - saying "no" to silence.

Éist - meaning "listen" in Irish - is an organisation dedicated to addressing sexual and gender-based violence through education, advocacy, and survivor-centred support.

Founded on the belief that no one should feel unheard or alone, Éist exists to listen, to inform, and to contribute to safer, more compassionate responses to trauma.

We are not a replacement for the essential frontline services working tirelessly in this space, we stand alongside them. Our role is to strengthen understanding, bridge gaps in knowledge, and support individuals, communities, and organisations to respond in ways that are informed, appropriate, and do not cause further harm.

Through education, conversation, and collaboration, Éist works to challenge harmful norms, build confidence in responding to sensitive situations, and ensure that those affected by sexual and gender-based violence are met with care, respect, and understanding.

At our core, Éist is about creating spaces where people feel heard, and where that listening leads to meaningful change.

Éist Services:

Éist is a trauma-informed organisation working to address sexual and gender-based violence through education, advocacy, and survivor-centred support.

We focus on building understanding, challenging harmful norms, and equipping individuals and organisations with the knowledge and confidence to respond safely and appropriately.

What We Do

We deliver a range of services designed to create safer, more informed communities and workplaces.

Training & Workshops

We provide trauma-informed training for organisations, education settings, and community groups, covering areas such as consent, workplace behaviour, supporting survivors, and responding to sensitive situations.

Our workshops are practical, accessible, and tailored to the needs of each group.

Education & Awareness

We facilitate talks and sessions that build understanding of sexual and gender-based violence, challenge myths, and support prevention through informed conversation.

Survivor Support Pathways

While we are not a crisis service, we recognise the importance of accessible support. We signpost individuals to appropriate, trauma-informed services and supports where needed. We also provide access to trauma informed counselling & psychotherapy for those who wish to avail of it.

Community Engagement

We work in partnership with community organisations to deliver workshops, events, and initiatives that bring these conversations into accessible, local spaces.

Advocacy

We continue to advocate for safer systems and survivor-centred approaches, contributing to ongoing conversations around policy, practice, and cultural change.

Queer Talk

Éist - Saying No To Silence Presents: Queer Talk
Proudly supported by Pantibar

Queer Talk is an open, community-led discussion addressing sexual violence within queer communities. This event creates space for honest conversation, shared learning, and collective care, while recognising the diverse ways sexual violence impacts LGBTQIA+ people.

We are committed to fostering a survivor-centred, trauma-informed environment grounded in respect, consent, and confidentiality. Participation is voluntary, and attendees are encouraged to engage at a level that feels safe and comfortable for them.

This is a safe and inclusive space. We welcome people of all genders - including trans, non-binary, intersex, and gender-diverse people - as well as people of all sexual orientations. Allies are welcome to attend with care and respect for the space.

This event takes place on Trans Day of Visibility, and we acknowledge the disproportionate impact of sexual violence on trans and gender-diverse communities. We affirm the importance of visibility, solidarity, and continued advocacy for safety, dignity, and justice for all.

Join us for a trauma informed, deeply nurturing Meditation Healing Evening, created to help you slow down, reconnect, and return to the present moment in a safe and sacred space. Hosted by Sinéads Healing Solas.

This evening is designed to gently calm the mind, open the heart, and support self-expression through meditation, reflection, and sound.

What to Expect

Two Guided Meditations

✍️ Journaling & Reflection
There will be time for journaling to support self-reflection and integration. Please bring a notebook and pen.

🕯 Sacred Circle Sharing
We will come together in a circle to share in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space. Sharing is always optional, and everyone is invited to express themselves in a way that feels comfortable.
